Reviews
My favorite soul food spot! I stop here and get food anytime I'm in Detroit. Sundays is probably the best day to go because they have everything available. Lines are usually out the door on sundays but it's worth the wait. Be prepared to spend but they give you good portions for your money
I've been here a dozen times and I can't believe I haven't reviewed it. Overall I think Motor City has good food. Yes, sometimes the line is extra long. Yes, you have to order through a bullet proof glass window and some times they may not have what you want (today I wanted a fried pork chop /or a smothered pork chop but they didn't have pork chops) but I still come here when I want some good soul food. So instead of the pork chop, I ordered rib tips with collard greens and yams (a piece of corn bread comes with every order. I feel really strong about the obligatory piece of corn bread). Everything was piping out (even after my drive home. This is a takeout spot)and tasty. I've also had the fried chicken wings, mac and cheese, green beans and fried pork chops. I'm not a huge fan of their mac and cheese but I enjoy everything else I've had there.
Mmm...continued excellence. I ordered a smothered chop dinner with Mac and cheese and greens. Delicious and perfectly seasoned, with plenty of pepper to compliment the rich and creamy macaroni and cheese. Their greens are easily my favorite available in a restaurant. Perfectly cooked without being too soft and with an outstanding flavor. The line moves quickly, parking isn't too bad and the portions are so generous! Another outstanding experience from this wonderful and convenient establishment.
BEST SOUL FOOD EVER. Best soul food of all time. I think I saw the face of god while eating this. Really and truly. I had meatloaf and sweet potatoes, I want to come back for the 7up cake.
Not as good it use to be, but I still gave it 5 stars because they are at least still trying. I probably won't be back unless they improve the food quality. The customer service is great but the food quality has gone downhill!
